This is one
of two swords that belonged to
the Spanish knight, Rodrigo Díaz
de Vívar, El Cid, Campeador
de Castilla.
By the
summer of 2007, the Spanish
military museum in Madrid was
scheduled to relocate this sword
to a new military museum located
inside the Alcázar de Toledo.
Now it is being transferred to a
permanent location inside the
Cathedral of Burgos and near the
tombs of El Cid and Doña
Jimena.
