Escenas
Cotidianas |
|
Escenas Cotianas, by María Canteli Dominicis, McGraw-Hill, 1983, is
a wonderful
Spanish text
used for the
development
of
vocabulary.
Along with
the text by
Frank Sedwick,
Conversations
in Spanish:
Points of
Departure,
we are also
providing
below
accompanying
scripts based
on the
vocabulary
presented
for each
lesson.
We
believe that
a script
that tells
some kind of
story makes
it easier to
learn
vocabulary
of this
type. The
scripts that
we've
written for
these units
will follow
in numerical
order. |

The AP
Spanish
Class |
|
Practice in
oral and
written composition
is the key
to proper
preparation
for the Advance Placement
Spanish
Language
exam.
We suggest
that
students
practice
these skills
by writing
compositions
based on
specific
topics or "temas".
Below you
will find
other useful
ideas and
suggestions
for the AP
Spanish
class,
including
sequential
photos by
which
students can
practice
non-stop
oral
composition. |

Thematic
Units:
Sedwick |
|
What follows
is a series
of scripts
that we have
developed
based on the
thematic
units
presented in
Frank Sedwick’s
book,
Conversation
in Spanish:
Points of
Departure,
published by
Heinle &
Heinle,
Boston,
1989, fifth
edition.
These
scripts will
offer you a
thematic
story that
describes
the pictures
in each of
Sedwick’s
units.
We have found
it easier to
retain
vocabulary
if a story
is involved.
With each
script
students can
answer the
teacher’s
questions,
take
dictation,
attempt
non-stop
conversation
with a
partner,
translate
sentences,
record their
voices in
the language
lab, all in
activities
based on
these
scripts.
They are the
point of
departure
from where
the teacher
can use
his/her
imagination
to foster
vocabulary
development. |
